"We appreciate the individuals who have touched our lives. It is our goal to bring best caregiver & client experience possible!"

What Makes Us Different

We are a Close Knit Group of Caretakers

Our dedicated caregivers are the very heart and soul of Rent-A-Daughter. As their employer, we strive to care for them as they care for our clients. They are not just employees; they are people with lives and stories who have chosen to join us in our mission of serving older adults. They too deserve love and attention. The caregivers are supported by an office staff who earnestly desires to provide a network of care for the people we serve. Because of this commitment you will find our office staff to be compassionate and responsive to our client’s needs and requests.

Our core belief at Rent-A-Daughter is that every person, throughout every season of life, is deserving of love and respect.  Since 1985 we have had the privilege of embodying that belief by helping older adults live their lives to the fullest. Celebrating each of life’s seasons, we are committed to providing caring hands for aging hearts. Our core values guide all that we do and the culture that we desire to develop:

  • We desire to maintain consistency in our demeanor and treat others as we would want to be treated.

  • We strive to fulfill our commitments by delivering services as promised.

  • We want to do the right thing when no one is looking.

  • We desire to treat everyone we encounter with care and understanding.

  • We clearly represent our services and take responsibility for our actions.

  • Above all else, we put on love.

Our Company Story and Overview

Our core belief at Rent-A-Daughter is that every person, throughout every season of life, is deserving of love and respect. Since 1985 we have had the privilege of embodying that belief by helping older and convalescing adults live their lives to the fullest. Celebrating each of life's seasons, we are committed to providing caring hands for aging hearts.

Caring is the foundation upon which this agency was built. Helga Willett established Rent-A-Daughter in 1985 after she experienced the inability to locate a personal caregiver to assist with care for her convalescing mother. The agency grew quickly to become the most trusted source of elder care in Wauwatosa, WI and the surrounding areas. Ms. Willett led the company until her retirement in 2001 when Rob and Jean Henke took ownership.

Meet the Owners

Rob and Jean Henke

My husband, Rob, and I bought this business in 2001 from the woman who started it in 1985. Rob had developed a love for elder care when working as CFO in a continuing care retirement facility for many years.  It was during those years that he began to understand more than just the financial side of things. He began learning about the balance between wise business decisions and compassionate care and that people were what really mattered.  His 12 years there as CFO and later as CEO prepared him well for the next step we were to take.

When we took ownership of Rent-A-Daughter there were about 40 caregivers and an office staff of 4.  Today we employ 140 caregivers and an office staff of 11. Our greatest challenge is to find and employ those caregivers who share the same mission and values that we do as owners.   We are always looking for the right heart to serve our client’s needs.

Today, Rob and Jean continue the Rent-A-Daughter tradition of providing exceptional care. As the former president of a senior living community, Rob has dedicated much of his professional life to assuring that the dignity of seniors is maintained. Together he and Jean strive to promote and sustain a network of people to care for older adults. Their mission is to ensure that every client is treated with the respect and love they deserve.
